Many years ago , the Hobby of Radio Control Helicopters was almost inaccessible. It was really expensive and the learning cure was very long. Some people were in the hobby of RC planes, and out of those, very few had enough time and money to get into the RC helicopter hobby.
A couple of years ago, this has started to change with the arrival of the dual rotor coaxial helicopter. Equipped with a gyroscope, those are a lot more stable and easy to control. Those were far less expensive, but still something you could not just buy to see if you like it, because there were sill a couple hundred dollars. This was still a small investment for most people and not something you see in a store and buy without thinking about it.
This year, things have changed completely with the massive arrival of the toys rc helicopter. Long time hobbyist calls them toys because they don't like the mass comming to their hobby, but who cares how we name it. Those are Remote Control Helicopter, they fly very well, they behave just like the more expensive dual rotor coaxial helicopters, and they cost about 40$ in stores.
Anybody can learn how to fly this in very short period of time. My 6 year old boy was able to learn how to fly without crashing in about 20 minutes.
You will see these in every toy and electronic stores this year. This will be a big hit.
